Would gladly have blogged forever and a day, but am being a good student and have moved on to explore the world of Wikis; had been using one frequently without even realising it - the ubiquitious Wikipaedia, which can be really great for reference Queries e.g. Mum helping son with a talk on periscopes got mediocre serves from World Book and Britannica, but a great little article on this wikki, which was just what she needed to help him;
Book Lovers Wiki at the Princeton Public library is just great - book reviews that are short, lively and straight to the point...all in their genres for quick browsing as well...
Full Library Services Best Practice Wiki is well organised and contains useful hints on such diverse topics as services to young folk on one end of the spectrum, the elderly and the disabled on the other.
Montana History Wiki was well organised, but too dry - just lists of bibliographic data; the Wisconsin Heritage Collection is much more interesting with the Milwaukee (Happy Days territory to 70's tv fans ) section boasting photos of landmarks, the stories of the buildings with a people focus...very interesting and definately the way to go!

Joys of Blogging

Have looked up a variety of subjects and encountered many delights! from the sublime to somewhere else...!
For fans of Aussie Actors - http://hotaussiefamousmales.blogspot
this has all the scenes on it of where young aussie actors and other celebs are bare chested in work or play...Brisbane boys Lincoln Lewis and Craig Horner are included, which is great, since Craig has been a customer at our Library, and is a great bloke in real life; he has done work in all genres - Cyber Girl, H2O Just Add Water, Two Twisted , and has a keen following on a number of science Fiction related blogs, and a number of proudly gay photo ones as well - not everyone in Europe lusts over blonde aussie surfer boys; the dark haired hero also wins...
"Official "websites like In Film Australia come up in blog searches, but also www.soapchat.net, www.sidereel.com, www.ourpatch.com.au, and http://aussiecinema.blogspot.com.; http://ifc-bdc.blogspot.com/;
Some great and varied reviews of the current coming of age surf movie drama "Newcastle" when the title is blogged, as well as the young stars Lachlan Buchanan from Brisbane, and Xavier Samuel, also in the WA film" September"...learn opinions from bloggers who have met the stars, worked in the industry etc.etc.

Cabarita Beach, New South Wales

This is one of my special places; as a child I spent many happy holidays at my Grandmother's house at Mermaid Beach; the Gold Coast of those days is gone forever; these days, Cabarita brings back those memories...
